Museum News January 1, 2010 ABA Catfish Art Project On Dispaly At Iberville Museum ABA Vice-President and Project Coordinator, John F. Dutcher, announced the famous “Platteville Cats” will make their first long term debut at the Iberville Museum located at Plaquemine, Louisiana, beginning in early February. The 11 inch decorated resin catfish came about as collaboration between the Platteville Wisconsin Area Platteville Area Chamber of Commerce, the American Breweriana Association, and artists from throughout the United States. The mission is to draw attention to the National Brewery Museum™ and also the world class artists from throughout the country who created them. The Village of Potosi Wisconsin, home of the National Brewery Museum™ and Library fancies itself as the Catfish Capital of Wisconsin - hence catfish. Like cows, horses, and polar bears on parade around the country each catfish is decorated to represent a specific state. Once that is done the artist is to represent some aspect of brewing history from the assigned state. The eventual goal is to have all fifty states represented. ![]() Other News June 25, 2010 Did You KNow (From Museum of Beer & Brewing News Letter) read article...
